1795 (Oct). Folded cover from Spain to Guatemala endorsed “Coruña”, where the red “España” postmark was struck, rated for the triple weight with “7” Reales in manuscript according to the 1764 tariff. Dated on arrival on reverse in manuscript. It is believed that the route covered was either Corunna-Havana-Acapulco or Omoa-Guatemala. Triple rate transatlantic covers from Spain are very scarce, with no more than five recorded.
