1790 ca. Cover front from Madrid, exhibiting the Royal black cachet to indicate official mail (cachets in red were mainly hs on commercial correspondences), endorsed “Por el Rey”, sent to Santiago de Chile via Buenos Aires, as indicated by the green “España.” postmark (Kouri type VII) struck in this city, rated at “80” Reales in manuscript, corresponding to a 6 1⁄4 ounces weight.
