Lot 10201 – 1843, 90r black, late impression, pair with Ceará and Sobral handstamps

1843, 90r black, late impression, a largely margined pair displaying framed “CEARA” and “SOBRAL” straight-line handstamps (Ayres 1274 & 1177); light vertical crease at left. Five and seven examples of this denomination are respectively known possessing the Ceará and Sobral handstamps; unusual cancellations on 90r multiples are of great scarcity and, in this case, combining two different postmarks, are truly exceptional.
