Description
1874, 4 sen rose, syllabic 1 ( i ), perforation 11, bottom left positional pinhole, intense deep colour, quite well centred, showing almost complete strike of seven-blade propeller of Hyogo (unrecorded in Nishino’s 1985 handbook on foreign markings, but later confirmed for Hyogo on a cover with dated 20 Feb. 1875 dispatch). Scarce and very appealing. (JHES ¥96,000).
