Superintendent of Customs, Custom House, Hakodate, Japan.”. “Yokohama 8.(1.)7” (Jan. 7, 1875) type N1B1 cds on front, backstamped in transit at Tokyo and Fukushima (7-10 January). Carried at quadruple rate and 4 sen registration fee.

A very scarce Japanese consular mail forwarded from the United States , probably unique with this franking.
