Lot 20203 – 1866 Mexico District 3c Brown Eagle 72-1866 used

Mexico District 3c brown, probably consignment #72-1866, two large margins and two tight at top and right, used. Just 2,403 stamps were issued in 1865-66, only 400 were issued from this consignment. This stamp was used for a brief period as an experiment on local city mail and was very rarely cancelled. One of just about 15 examples recorded exhibiting a postmark. Cert. Mepsi (2023).
