1871, 100 mon dark blue, plate 1, intermediate printing, position 28, tied by large “Saikyo Kensazumi” handstamp to reverse of cover addressed to Fushimi, struck at top with red circular framed “Hori” of Sanjo-Nishihorigawa, “hakoba” (mail deposit place) type postmark. Cert. Florian Eichhorn BPP (2009).
A single franking in outstandingly fine quality, rarely found with such a perfect strike of the large Saikyo Kensazumi on a superb stamp with exceptional wide margins, further enhanced by the full contents, this being a rare characteristic in postal history of the “Dragon” issues.
