1897-1902, pair of envelopes sent without stamps when supplies ran short, one 1897 (Sep 1) from Newmarket to Kingston with boxed “JAMAICA PAID” and ms “Paid” in crayon; and other 1902 (Oct 30) with “PAID / JAMAICA” and Kingston cds, initialled at top left, addressed for collection at a PO Box in Kingston so it may have been normal procedure.
