1783 (August 20th) Folded entire sent from Lord Pennington at Muncaster to Dublin, franked Free with manuscript John Pennington, showing a black two-line WHITE/HAVEN on front and rear, plus an unframed Dublin FREE/D in its distinctive claret colour, a fine and extremely rare strike.

One of the earliest of the five usages recorded,
