1828 (September 2nd) Folded cover sent from Thomastown to Dublin, rated “8” and showing the clear oval red ABOVE * NUMBER * PRIVILEGED hs, very fine and very rarely found on complete covers.
Note: On detection, the Free Office applied an “above the privileged number” handstamp when MP’s sent more than 10 letters or received more than 15 letters per day.
