1794 (May 29th) Folded cover sent from Longford to Dublin, and redirected to Thurles, rated “4” being deleted and rerated “8”, showing faint but clear strike of the scarce black dotted oval T * OFF, Dublin Bishop JU/2 bs, very fine and scarce on internal mail and the rarest of the two types of T.Off mkgs.Note: The phrase Takings Off (T.OFF) was used within the Post Office for the accounting calculations usually applied to incoming redirected letters when the rate was adjusted.
