Lot 30467 – 1859 1d blue with Perkins Bacon “CANCELLED” in oval handstamp
1859 (1d) blue with Perkins Bacon “CANCELLED” in oval handstamp, presented by the printers to Ormond Hill (the nephew of Sir Rowland Hill) for members of his family, just cut into at top left otherwise good margins, still with original gum, very fine and fresh, from pos.6 out of the block of six cancelled as such, although only two are recorded by Jaffé (this example being unrecorded) and with one example in the Royal collection; cert. BPA (2001) (S.G. £12’000).
