Lot 20781 – 1920 Laissez-passer of the italian Mission in Poland declaring carriage of diplomatic courier
1920 (July 26) Laissez-passer signed by the Major head of the Military Staff of the Italian Military Mission in Polonia, with corresponding cachet in violet, indicating that the lawyer Emilio Pincherle was travelling with diplomatic courier and was in charge of the delivery of two bags from that Mission to the Ministry of War. A unique document proving the existence of the courier service with diplomatic status which served in various countries in the Inter-Wars period to forward the correspondence of the Italian missions, delivered to either local Italian military offices, Rome or civil/military P.O.’s in Veneto (in this case the courier travelled to Rome).
