1840 1d Mulready lettersheet, Forme 1 stereo A8, sent locally from Shefford (Bedfordshire) to Ampthill cancelled solely by a red “Shefford / Penny Post” handstamp, extremely rare and only possible when mail was sent between two small villages without passing through a parent Post Office, very fine, cert BPA (2003).
