Description

1841 (May 11) White wrapper used to carry a Registered Letter from London to Bedwin, with London despatch, BEDWIN undated circle on the inside and Marlborough transit on reverse, believed to be the only recorded example of the emergency usage of white paper for what should have been green wrappers for registered inland mail after the start of the new system on January 6th 1841, ex Martin Willcocks June 1999 (lot 1089 Sold for £9410) and Alan Holyoake RDP FRPSL.
