Photographic portrait of Sir Henry Cole (1808 to 1882) who devised the concept of sending greetings cards at Christmas time, and is credited with the introduction of the world’s first commercial Christmas card in 1843; photo mounted and framed on paper, footnoted Lock and Whitfield, Woodbury Process.
