1866, 500r orange, torn before being applied, used in conjunction with 1876 roulette 100r green and 200r black, paying a large cover from Valença to Rio de Janeiro sextuple rate, all cancelled by dotted cork cancels with French-type dispatch cds (5.6.78) and oval “Registrado/N°__/Valença.” hs in violet, part of red registration cds on back, vertical crease not impinging on the stamps and some soiling; an extremely rare domestic franking; ex Dr. de Amaral Machado.
