Lot 40050 – 1866, 50r blue, horizontal block of ten used

1866, 50r blue, horizontal block of ten, showing traces of marginal imprint at lower left, cancelled by indistinct black cds and blue postmark at upper right, incredibly fresh with only one perforation missing at base and small closed tear at right; one of just two recorded.

Note: This item was unknown before by most of Dom Pedro’s philatelists and was unlisted in the Comelli’s census. As a proof of its rarity, the largest used multiples gathered in the Alemany and Comelli collection were just one block of eight.
