Switzerland, Neuchatel – 1851 Poste Locale 5c, assembly of five items, comprising two glass support clichés of the stamp without the cross on red background, one in black and one in red and a further glass support cliché of the inner cross outline in red, also included are two clichés on celluloid dated July 1949, one in vermilion and one in grey; this group of clichés demonstrates Sperati completely comprehended the two stage printing process -the cross on red background being added to the rest of the design; a magnificent and unique group.
