1939 (Nov 22) Garmisch-Partenkirchen Organising Committee letter to its members announcing the relinquishing of the Games back to the IOC because of the state of war, stating that the international press will be informed two days later, and thanking the members of the organising committee for their work, signed on the reverse by the Lord Mayor and Stadtschulrat Bauer, an exhibition item in the story of the 1940 cancelled Games.
