2d blue, position 7, showing the famous and popular “PENOE” variety for “PENCE”, touched to large uneven margins and neatly tied by circular “3” in bars and boxed ‘SOUILLAC/MY.3.1851’ ds, on 1851 small neat folded entire from Souillac to Port Louis, with MAURITIUS/GPO crowned circle and boxed ‘INLAND’ alongside, an attractive usage, apparently unique (SG £17’000 as a single off cover)Rate: 2d inland rate. This rate was for letters from rural post towns or villages to Port Louis, not exceeding 1/2 ounce, this rate remaining in use and unchanged from the introduction of the Post Ordinance No. 8 of 1850
