FRENCH LEVANT – GREECE: 1871 Single weight cover from Volos to Syros, franked with 20c, Napoleon III Laure, cancelled by blue Volos P.P., on arrival it was charged with 20 Lep, 1868-69 cleaned plates issue, on the back, Piraeus transit c.d.s. (20-1-1872), cover was disinfected in Piraeus, the only recorded such combination. extremely rare, very fine and UNIQUE mixed franking (VI. 38)Provenance: Mattheos Auction
