AN UNUSUALLY FINE MINT EXAMPLE
Electric Telegraph 1860, 1R reddish purple mint og, a very fine and very fresh example with unusually fine appearance for this stamp, which only has some faint surface scratches at lower right compared to the other examples we have seen which often have faults or at least noticeable surface rubbing (SG £7’500)
A very rare telegraph stamp with reportedly only 10 examples recorded of which two are in the Royal Collection
