1859 Post Paid 1d. red-brown, vertical strip of four, positions 3/6/9/12, paying the 4d. overseas rate on 8 January 1860 folded cover to Bordeaux, tied by ‘PAID’ within circle hs with ‘G.P.O./MAURITIUS’ cds on reverse, red French entries and ‘8’ due on arrival, and arrival bs, the upper adhesive overlapping the edge and torn on opening
