1854-57 Post Paid 2d light blue, position 12, ample to huge margins, centrally and lightly cancelled by numeral ’14’ of concentric rings, on 24.1.1855 folded cover carried at single rate from a rural town to Port Louis not exceeding 1/2oz, with octagonal ‘PLAINS MAGNAN / JA24.1855’ hs on dispatch, and GPO Mauritius crowned circle alongside, the latter showing erroneous day in the date including one figure inverted, some soiling and splitting through vertical fold and edges, not detracting from the very rare usage, thought to be one of only three examples recorded to date
