1869 Folded entire from Smirne to Volo, with blue boxed bilingual “FRANCO” and the equivalent in Arabic, the Franco or Franca markings were used to indicate that postage had been paid, or was not required, an extremely rare showpiece
Rarity: This cancellation is only known on Egyptian stamps and two stampless covers
Note: The handstamp in green (42 x 22 mm.) is believed to be the postmark of the Egypt Shipping Co. of Alexandria or possibly belonging to the Khedevial Mail Line
