1840 (Nov 8) Entire from Moffat to Edinburgh with 1840 1d black pl.1b SJ tied by neat BROWN MALTESE CROSS, with good to very good margins, with matching boxed Moffatt ds on reverse, one of the finest such covers known, a wonderful example of the very rare “home-made” brown ink used by Moffatt Post Office (SG Spec AS 5vi, £9’500)
