1850 Cottonreel 12 cents black on blue, horiz. pair Townsend types A thick + C thin rule se-tenant, security initials “ETED” of postal official Dalton, cut square into design, light cds cancels of Berbice and again of Demerara February 1851, trace of faint crease on left stamp, an extremely rare piece as pairs are the largest known multiples (6 pairs are recorded, of which two in institutions) (SG £70’000 as singles)
