1883 (Dec 24) Envelope single letter rate sent to Dobb’s Ferry, New York (United States) via Aden (partial date-stamp) & London (20 January 1884) bearing 4 1/2a franking tied by the “Third Experimental Cancel” of the Indian Post Office at Zanzibar. Ink smudge on left does not detract from this lovely example of Zanzibar postal history to a very scarce destination.
Note: This very scarce canceller was in use from October 1882 through September 1884
