1904 Picture postcard of Chita to Orenburg (arrival cds of 22 9 04) datelined “1904 10 S (Sept.)”, postmarked next day CHITA/1/RAILWAY POSTAL BRANCH 11 IX 1904, alongside violet circular free-frank cachet reading around Imperial Eagle: 288th INFANTRY (KULIKOV) REGIMENT.
Postcards with free-frank cachets already applied were issued to officers travelling on the Trans-Siberian Railway for their private correspondence. Auction
