Aug. 6” circular datestamp, to New Haven CT and forwarded to Bethlehem Pa., “Forward 3” in an arc handstamp, Very Fine, the Freeland Institute was a Mennonite preparatory school for boys that went out of business due to the Civil War and in 1869, Ursinus College was founded and set up in its buildings and the town was a stop along the stage coach route between Philadelphia and Reading Catalogue ref: 65
