UNIQUE TRIPLE ISSUE COMBINATION 1859 (May 9) Wrapper from Port Louis to London, endorsed “Via Aden & Marseilles”, franked at 1s (1/2 oz) packet rate by 1848-59 1 d “POST PAID“ red-brown on bluish paper (worn impression, pos. 2), 1858-62 Britannia 9d dull magenta (issued April 1859) and 1859 (Mar) Lapirot 2d blue (early impression, pos. 12), each with fine colour and clear to good margins, tied by mute barred oval cancels. This unique triple issue combination is unquestionably one of the great covers of Mauritius and British Empire philately, of exceptional beauty and in a remarkable state of preservation.
