THE CHRISTOPHER PODGER COLLECTION OF REVENUE STAMPS 1847-1936, Revenue exhibition collection, 8 frames totalling 128 oversized pages, covering from the Ottoman period to King George V. Starts with the embossed and printed stamped paper of the Ottoman Empire, followed then on to the Ottoman revenue stamps with fragments and complete documents. Next, the original order by the Chief Secretary sent to the District Commissioners about the introduced of British Revenue stamp and stamped paper, followed by the QV Unappropriated Dies incl. die proofs, imperfs with Specimen ovpts and plate proofs, Specimen stamps from the Inland Revenue archive, Specimen ovpts on normal stamps in multiples showing marginal markings as well as singles of the different types incl. “Cancelled,” usages on document, hand painted essays from the De La Rue archive as well as a design submission and 2 rough drafts with mock-ups for approval (ex Eley), followed by the locally overprinted issues incl. varieties, then Embossed Revenues with CYPRUS ovpt cut-outs and complete documents, Revenue stamps with postal cancels, tobacco bands incl. De La Rue archive page, then KEVII again with die proofs, Specimens, usages on document, KGV incl. the UNIQUE 1pi with inverted wmk, die proof of the £1 duty tablets, usages on document as well a postally sent cover, culminating with the spectacular £361.113pi franking on fragment consisting of the largest known multiple of the 1924-28 £5.
