1842 (Nov 15) Entire from Upper Ervie to Castle Douglas (Scotland) with black MC struck across the fold at top, possibly to denote that the letter was found open and resealed in transit, with red “NEW / GALLOWAY” hs adjacent, Castle Douglas bs, a most unusual usage of a MC Auction
