Italian States comprises very good Sardinia, Tuscany, incl. very fine 1854 letter from Montepulciano bearing 2cr and 6cr, Modena, Sicily, very fine Naples, Papal States incl. 1866 cover with postage due imperf. pair 1863 10c, Parma incl. XF 1859 letter franked with 1857 15c, also letter bearing 1853 15c. Good selection Lombardy-Venetia and Austrian used in Italy, The Italy includes 1913 registered cover franked with Patmos overprint on definitives, and very fine small range of 1917 air mail stamps, also 1933 Balbo’s trans-Atlantic flight issue 5.25l + 19.75l with overprint “I-Long” on front of postcard to Amsterdam (Sa. €4’250). An impressive range of covers and folded letters in mostly very fine condition, with lots to explore for the postal historian and postmark collector.
