Canton 1839 (Feb. 11), entire letter to Aberdeen, Scotland with manuscript endorsement “Per Chelydra from China 11 Feb 1839”; black 2-line unframed BRISTOL SHIP LETTER and postmarks of JUN 11 1839, 1/10 rate marking. Small ink stain and filing creases, fine three pages of mercantile correspondence from the period leading up to the outbreak of the Opium Wars that same year. Auction
