1841 (Apr 27) entire from Belturbet, Ireland, addressed to the British Consul in Cadiz, Spain, with 1840 2d blue in block of six, strip of four and three singles, mixed margins and a couple with faults at top, each cancelled by good strikes of the black Maltese Cross, endorsed “via Falmouth” and put aboard the “Royal Adelaide”, reverse with Belturbet despatch, Dublin and London transits.
Considered the most important Irish cover going abroad, as well as being the highest franking of the 2d blue abroad and the highest 1840 issue franking to Spain.
