1840 (7 Dec) 1d black pl.8 LA, a stunning marginal example from the left of the sheet showing part inscription “ce the Labels ABOVE” and with balanced margins on other sides, neatly tied on entire letter to Exeter, tied red MC, ‘’Lombard St 7 12 40’’ and ‘’Exeter 8 12 40’’ backstamps. A very attractive and rare entire with very few inscriptional stamps known from this plate on cover; cert. BPA (1997); ex “GL” (1981), Manzi (1997) and Vullo (2003).
