Lot 81193 – 1879 Bucharest Issue, 5 Bani blue error of colour

1879 Bucharest Issue, 5 Bani blue error of colour in vertical pair with 10 Bani: cancelled with a faint blue rural postmark dated 27 SEP 79 . A 5 bani cliché was mistakenly inserted into the new plate of 130 subjects of the 10 bani (type 2), likely in position 40. The 5B has a minor abrasion and a missing tooth resulted from the usual irregular perforations, otherwise very fine condition for such a rare item, with very few surviving pairs. A great rarity of Romanian postclassical stamps.
