Description
1875-1879 Four letters:
1. Letter sent from Syros ( Dec.3rd, 1875) to Smyrna (Dec. 4th, 1875). Red “PD” postmark for “Paid to Destination”. Franked at the UGP/UPU rate of 30 lepta with a pair of 5 lepta and one 20 lepta of the meshed papers printings.
2. Letter from Athens (Nov. 20th, 1879) to Smyrna (Nov. 22nd, 1879), via Pireas (Nov. 20th, 1879). Franked at the UPU rate of 30 lepta with a marinal 30 lepta of new values/Athens printings. Good margins.
3. Letter from Athens (May. 26th, 1878) to Alexandria (June 1st, 1878). Franked at the UPU rate of 30 lepta with a marginal 30 lepta of new values/Athens printings.
4. Front of an unpaid letter sent from Syros to Alexandria. Taxed at the arrival at 160 lepta (double rate) with two 80 lepta of the consecutive Athens printings. “2” printed in black indicating the double rate. Catalogue ref: Hellas 39a/41b/45b/22a
