Lot 80709 – Letter from Pireas (Jun. 11/23, 1870) to Marseille
1870 Letter from Pireas (Jun. 11/23, 1870) to Marseille (Jun. 16/28, 1870) franked at 70 lepta corresponding to the transportation by the boats of the”Compagnie des Paquebots de la Méditerranée” of a letter up to from 10 grams (single rate) according to the 1866 convention between Greece & France. Red postmark “PD” for “Paid to destination”. The 5 & 40 lepta are from the “cleaned plates” printings (1868/1869) and the 20 lepta is from the 1870 special printings. All the stamps with good to large margins except the 20 lepta with one narrow margin.
