Description
1868-1881 Three letters & one fragment from/to Trieste at U.P.U. rates:
1. Letter from Athens (Feb. 10/22, 1881) to Trieste (Feb. 19/Mar. 3, 1881) franked at the U.P.U. rate of 30 lepta for a letter up to 15 grams sent to the members countries with a 30 lepta of the Athens printing (1876/1877). Very large margins.
2. Letter from Pyrgos (Mar. 13/25, 1887) to Trieste (Mar. 21/Apr. 3, 1887) via Patras (Mar. 14/26, 1887) franked at the new U.P.U. rate of 25 lepta since 1882.
The 5 lepta is from the cream papers witout “control number” printings (1880/1886) and the 20 lepta is from the change of colours printings (1882). Stamps with good to large margins.
Late usage of the large Hermes heads as they were discontinued and replaced by the small Hermes heads in 1886.
3. Fragment from Trieste, Austria-Hungary (May 24th/June 6th, 1868) to Syros (May 29th/June 1th, 1868).
The three stamps are from one of the consecutive Athens printings.
4. Letter sent from Patras (Mar. 6th/18th, 1877) to Trieste, Austria-Hungaria (Mar. 2X, 1877), via Kerkyra (Mar. 8th/20th, 1877). Franked at the U.P.U. rate of 30 lepta for a letter up to 15 grams sent to the members countries with three 10 lepta of the cream papers with CN printings.
