Description
1868 Unpaid letter from Constantinople (Mar. 27, 1868) to Athens (Mar. 29, 1868) via Piraeus (Mar. 29, 1868). Taxed at the arrival at 45 lepta, written on red pencil, corresponding to the rate of a letter of 10 grams according to the 1866 convention, applicable starting Nov. 1, 1867, between France and Greece for the French Levant offices.
Both stamps of the consecutive Athens printings (1862/1867) with good to large margins. Catalogue ref: Hellas 17a/20IIa
