1849 1Kr black in double print block of 35 stamps from top of sheet showing the inverted cliche in position 10, the second printing from 8.5 to 11.5mm below the top stamp, this second double image also shows the inverted cliche. The block is in fresh condition with original mostly never hinged gum, a couple of adherences and some slight creases not affecting the invert.
The largest known double print multiple, a great philatelic rarity, found originally by Pierre Mahé, Curator of the Phillippe Ferrary collection. There are three known tête-bêche pairs or blocks, none are double prints. A unique item in Bavarian and German Philately.
