1841-1890s, world collection in very impressive LUXURY Schaubek’s Illustriertes Briefmarken-Album (published by R. Senf, Leipzig, probably 1880s) a very fresh intact classic album (433 numbered pages) with many stamps inserted and postcard/stationary cut-outs. The heavy album is in wonderful condition, bound in red decorated boards, with gilt edged pages, and with intact metal clasp. Containing good range of world classic stamps, with some focus on Europe and Latin America. The collection has most focus on cut-outs and documents a way of collecting in the early epoch that was very different from today. Stamps are properly and safely hinged to pages and exhibit the usual mix of quality that we expect from such old-time collection. A fascinating intact collection in one of the heaviest and most beautifully manufactured albums we have seen, housed in the original box.
