Containing a good range of all-world early stamps, starting with France 1849 with classics up to 5f 1869, strong GB, Austria, German States, and well-filled pages of Italian States, incl Papal States 50 baj and 1 scudo, Asia and Africa includes good India, with 4 anna 1854, and Cape of Good Hope. A fascinating old-time collection with many wow-moments, taking us back to the genesis of stamp collecting and shows a very different way of collecting from today. Naturally demonstrating the quality problems of this type of proto-collection, and all stamps are glued firmly to pages. A book of real cultural significance and a wonderful display object.
