1849 (7.6) Folded entire from Old Chester, Pennsylvania, USA addressed to a Mr. Hugh Donnan from his son In care of Mr. Andrew Wilson Saintfield Post Office, County Down, showing “1/-” transatlantic rate in black and in red, plus usage of a manuscript Missent to Lisburn with double arc LISBURN/JU.27.1849 ds in blue-green, plus additional American rate mkgs of “5” in a circle and “24” both in black, fine and a scarce transatlantic usage

Note: John Donnan son of Hugh writing to his parents about life in America since his arrival from Belfast, a wonderful piece of social history
