Description
1929-1930, “AIR MAIL” overprint on Lakatoi 3d black and blue-green, Ash printing, left marginal horizontal strip of three, with overprints omitted from front, but printed vertically (reading downwards) on reverse, showing full overprint on first stamp, “..IR MAIL” on second, and none on the third. Certificate Ceremuga, 2021, notes “Extremely rare error from a sheet that had the LL corner portion folded over during overprinting. Only portions of 4 sheets showing various combinations of overprint errors due to fold overs have been recorded.” Mint with never hinged original gum, some toning and aging to the gum on back, some hinge parts attached to front to prevent perforation splitting; diagonal corner crease through the second stamp, which is not classified as a fault as this is what caused the overprint error (S.G. £13’000+).
