France. 1852 (Mar 15). Wrapper from Paris to La Paz, with 1849-50 1F carmine pair and 10c bistre tied by roller cancel, carried via London to Southampton and put onboard RMSPC “Trent” to St. Thomas, across the Isthmus (before the opening of the railway) and put on a PSNC packet for Lamar (aka Cobija) with straightline “LAMAR” hs, with ms “2 1/2” charge for carriage to La Paz; stamps cut into and some cover faults with fold splitting; very few first-issue covers sent to Bolivia are known; cert.
