Description

1871 (3.11) Envelope from Cairo to Rome via Alexandria, the letter was first franked Egypt 2nd Issue 1pi. at Cairo, the letter was handed over to the Italian post office for the transfer to Rome with two Italian 1867 20 Centesimi stamps used for postage and cancelled with numeral “234” alongside POSTE ITALIANE D’EGGITO / ALLESSANDRIA 1871 (4.11), arrival cancellation at Rome 1871 (8.11), some cover and stamp faults, a scarce usage
